This session will provide teachers with different approaches to optimise every child’s chance of success in the end of key stage 2 mathematics tests. It will include how to identify the specific aspects of the mathematics curriculum to focus on for different groups of children in the lead up to the tests. There will also be detailed exploration of past test papers and questions and will make alternative suggestions about how these could be used in the classroom in engaging and purposeful ways. The session will also focus on effective pedagogy to enable the children to develop mathematical understanding which they can draw upon during and beyond the tests.
