A full day event for NQTs that explores how to support children in your class with additional needs.

Part One:
SEND in my classroom

• Joanne Cayley - Inclusion Manager

During this session we will discuss SEND in your classroom and share practical strategies which can be used to support some of our SEND learners.

Part Two:
Effective teaching of EAL learners in my classroom

• Sejal Payne - Education Consultant

This practical and interactive session will :
• broaden delegates understanding of EAL pedagogy - the way pupils with EAL learn
• identify key challenges faced by pupils with EAL
• explore some practical and inclusive strategies/resources to support all pupils with English as an additional language for successful learning outcomes.
• provide guidance to support pupils with EAL

Part Three:
Understanding Autism and Reducing Anxieties (CPD Certified)

• Cheryl Kennedy - Director of AIW Consultancy (Autism Inclusion Wellbeing)

Designed to be interesting and thought provoking delivering that ‘Ah ha, that makes sense’ moment. It aims to help you become that person who can make a difference to a child with autism and their families. Have you ever wondered what the autistic spectrum is? Ever wondered why do autistic people behave the way they do? Do you want to support autistic children school but have no idea where to start? Wish to understand what causes meltdowns? Would you like to be able to reduce an autistic person’s anxieties?
