A training course for staff working in primary schools to enable them to develop the speech and language skills of ALL children but especially those with speech and language difficulties. The course gives practical advice and strategies which are also suitable for children with English as an additional language and other special educational needs.
Over 7,000 people have already completed this training and found it has helped them to differentiate the curriculum more effectively.

There is an option for those completing this course to attempt a level 3 or level 2 nine credit Award in Knowledge and Practice to Support the Communication Skills of 5-11s – both levels are on the QCF. A portfolio of evidence will need to be submitted.

The course will run by highly experienced speech and language therapist Melissa McIlhiney. All training sessions will be delivered via Zoom video. The course will be split into 10 two hour sessions. The first 6 sessions have been confirmed. The remaining 4 sessions will run after May half-term. We will confirm dates with the delegates attending, once we know more regarding school closures. All sessions will be recorded on Zoom, so that delegates can catch-up on any content they may have missed.
