Curriculum leaders play a key role in inspection. This session will help you prepare for your Ofsted discussions. Helen will consider with you the core purpose of curriculum leadership. She will talk you through the expectations and will offer you some possible questions to frame your thinking. She will offer some suggestions for efficient monitoring. She will suggest ways of making sure your subject covers pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. She will challenge you to think how your subject contributes to the culture of safeguarding and to the development of pupils’ reading skills. There will be opportunities for discussion and questions as well as action planning. Please have to hand your section 5 inspection handbook and ‘Inspecting the curriculum’ May 2019.
