Reading fluency has become a hot topic in recent years. It is referenced in the National Curriculum, the 2019 Ofsted framework and the KS1 Teacher Assessment Framework. Yet, knowing what is meant by reading fluency, how to measure it and how to teach it can be confusing. In this course, experienced trainer and education writer, Rachel Clarke, take teachers through definitions of reading fluency, shows how fluency is a key aspect of comprehension and provides colleagues with practical and easy to apply approaches to teach reading fluency.
