This training focuses on the why, what and how of teaching phonics to learners with SEND. During the session we consider how to use the DfE’s reading framework with learners who are not making progress. We will examine how the science of reading can be used to create an inclusive systematic synthetic phonics curriculum to enable all learners to make progress. It will contain practical strategies and approaches that can be used right away to make a difference to learners who are struggling, within any validated scheme.
