PEP:mk Power Hours: New for 22-23

‘Switch on, sit back and learn’

The focus of this one hour, lecture style remote session is Guided Reading.

The session will focus on one small area of learning. Delegates will take away strategies/information that they can put into action immediately.

In this presentation, Rachel Clarke draws on her extensive knowledge of how to teach reading comprehension through small group guided reading. Using techniques embedded in research, she provides practical approaches to improve children’s comprehension. The presentation includes a lesson walkthrough which aims to demystify guided reading by offering attendees a simple and time-efficient model for teaching small-group guided reading.

Course objectives:
• Establish a shared understanding of the term guided reading
• Explore practical approaches for teaching guided reading
• Raise the confidence of webinar attendees

Guided reading gets a lot of bad press, this course sets out to put the record straight and help you put a love of guided reading at the heart of your reading provision.
