In this series of two courses we will explore how we can create meaningful inclusive practices across all classrooms to ensure the best outcomes for our neurodivergent learners and those with SEND. We will focus on developing our ordinarily available provision based on the principles of universal design for learning. The sessions will include a focus on

Session 1 (21 Sept 2023, 9.30-11.30):
• Understanding our learners – using diversity and variability to inform our practice
• Defining ordinarily available provision and UDL – looking at how using the principles of UDL could transform learning for all
• Designing for engagement – how we can create multiple means of engagement to increase motivation, interest and relevance for all
• Designing for representation – focusing on presenting information in different forms, using technology and multi-sensory approaches to ensure all learners can understand and access our content
• Designing for action and expression -exploring strategies to enable learners to demonstrate knowledge and skills in many ways

Session 2 (25 Sept 2023, 1.00-3.00):
• Designing for Implementation- focusing on providing practical ideas and strategies to create a toolkit of approaches to remove barriers to learning for all.
• Creating an inclusive culture
• Strategies to build strong relationships
• Effective use of technology
• Use of monitoring and feedback
• Teaching approaches, groupings, and resources
• Practical ways to support metacognition
• The importance of continuing professional development

Proving practical strategies and signposting, from early identification to access to high quality ordinarily available provision based on the principle of UDL. By implementing these strategies, teachers can create an environment that supports student learning and growth and fosters a love of learning in all.
