This session aims to develop knowledge and understanding around neurodiversity and the importance of using this to enhance EYFS provision. In the session we will focus on:
• Strategies to enhance neurodiversity - affirming practices in the Early Years
• Changing our perspective from seeing ‘red flags’ to understanding strengths.
• Building relationships and connection - using special interests as a springboard into learning.
• The importance of time – to support planning, understanding the child, and the use of ‘inclusive’ language, consistency, predictability, and personalised learning approaches.
