PEP:mk Power Hours: ‘Switch on, sit back and learn’

In this presentation, Rachel Clarke takes attendees on a crash course through the key spelling terminology including morphology, etymology, orthography and phonological approaches. She demonstrates how these can be taught practically and offers a range of ‘take-aways’ that colleagues can embed in their teaching after the course. The course is suitable for teachers in KS1 and KS2 and refers to the national curriculum throughout.

Course aims:
• Expand understanding of the terminology associated with spelling
• Demonstrate practical approaches to teach spelling
• Provide course delegates with ‘take away’ ideas to embed in their teaching.
