Practical Approaches to Reading for Pleasure
Partnership Schools - FREE
Non-Partnership Schools - £65 per delegate
Reading for pleasure is the single most important indicator of a child’s future success. OECD 2002
Reading for Pleasure is included in the National Curriculum and both The Reading Framework (DfE, 2023) and Telling the Story (Ofsted 2024) note its importance. But what can you do to ensure all children in your school love reading?
On this course we look at practical approaches to establishing a culture of Reading for Pleasure in your school. Find out how to get the most out of your story times, libraries and book stock with the editor of the Scholastic Reading Audit*.
*The Scholastic Reading Audit is a free online audit that helps you assess your school reading provision. It asks you to reflect on how you teach reading, but also what you have in place to ensure that all children in your school love reading. It was written by and is edited by Rachel Clarke the presenter of this course. https://www.scholastic.co.uk/reading-hub/reading-audit/primary
