Following the removal of statutory National Curriculum testing at the end of KS1, this session will explore alternative ways of assessing children’s understanding of maths. Consideration will be given to how we can assess mathematical skills that are important across a range of topic areas (e.g. problem solving, reasoning, explaining, etc), materials and resources that may be used to do so and the role the adult may play in this assessment of understanding.
