This 3-hour training course explores bereavement in detail and provides a strong foundation for those managing bereavement in a school setting. It is suitable for all school staff and The course aims to:
- Develop an understanding of the impact of loss and grief on children and young people.
- Gain insight into children and young people's reactions to loss and grief, and how a school might respond to meet the needs of grieving pupils.
- Consider strategies for pastoral support appropriate to the age and developmental stage of the pupils.
- Recognise the importance of creating a bereavement-aware culture within school.
