Essential Non-fiction
Non-Partnership Schools - £65 per delegate
If delegates fail to attend and no cancellation is made this will incur a £30 charge.
The national curriculum asks that children learn to read for pleasure and information. On this course we look at how non-fiction books can meet both of these aims. We explore a range of non-fiction books and teaching techniques to bring them alive. We also think about the role of non-fiction in the wider world and why it is essential for our children to be familiar with reading non-fiction texts. Packed with takeaways to put into practice at school, this is a great course for teachers looking to expand their knowledge of non-fiction genres.
Course Outcomes:
• Explore a range of non-fiction texts
• Consider the importance of non-fiction texts in the wider world
• Exemplify learning activities that support the reading of non-fiction
PLEASE NOTE: FOR ALL FACE TO FACE TRAINING SESSIONS DELEGATES MUST BRING THEIR SCHOOL ID WITH THEM TO SHOW RECEPTION
