This course is suitable for Teachers, English Subject Leaders & Middle Leaders

On this course we look at how to adapt teaching in reading lessons so that all pupils experience success. The course is grounded in the definition of adaptive teaching from the EEF and draws on Rosenshine’s Principles. It is a practical course which aims to support teachers in meeting the needs of their pupils without adding to their workloads.

Course Outcomes:

• Establish what is meant by adaptive teaching and why it needs to happen.

• Explore ways of adapting teaching in reading so that it is manageable and ensures that all pupils thrive.

• Take a focussed look at scaffolding and how we can use it to support reading.
